Adam Levesque is a PhD student at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. Prior to this he completed a Master’s degree in Social Work (University of Toronto), a Master’s degree in Information Science (Dalhousie University), and a Bachelors degree in Anthropology and Criminology (St Thomas University). Adam has worked as a counsellor/therapist, information manager, and researcher in a variety of settings including, healthcare, university and different levels of government.
His PhD research explores Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans (LGBT) People of Color in Ontario. His other areas of research interests include intersectional experiences of race, ethnicity, gender, age and sexual orientation/identity; healthcare and mental healthcare accessibility for marginalized communities/populations, and quality improvement in health/mental health services.
