Sophia Fantus is a PhD candidate in the collaborative Social Work and Bioethics doctoral program at the University of Toronto. She holds a Master of Social Work from New York University (NYU) and an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Bioethics from the University of Toronto. Sophia serves as a consulting editor for Social Work: A Journal of the NASW, and is a committee member of the Health Sciences Research Ethics Board at the University of Toronto.
Her dissertation research focuses on the use of gestational surrogacy among single and partnered gay men across Canada. Her general areas of interest include ethical issues in social work practice, research and education, as well as LGBTQ advocacy and inclusivity.
