The CRUISElab is happy to announce the addition of Adam Davies to the #iCruise research team.
Adam Davies is a PhD student in Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto (OISE/UT), as well as the Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies and the University of Toronto Women and Gender Studies Institute. Adam’s doctoral research specializes in the possibilities of queering Gay Male Social Networking Applications (GMSNAs), with a specific interest in the production of emotions and affect and decolonial approaches to queer technology usage. Adam holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology and Education from OISE/UT, and an Honours Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Wilfrid Laurier University. Adam’s research interests include, but are not limited to: queer theory, pedagogies, and methodologies, decolonial methodologies, queer masculinities, and sexuality education. Adam is an Ontario Certified Teacher and has publications in various peer-reviewed journals, including: Education Canada, The Canadian Journal of Action Research, The Canadian Journal of Human Sexuality, and Impact Ethics. Adam has also run workshops in various settings regarding LGBTQ equity, queering approaches to sex education, as well as sex education and disability.
